Activities Around Neuenburg
There is more to discover here than you can fit into one holiday, and there is something for every taste. We have collected a few highlights for you. From the holiday home you can reach many sights by car or by train. Neuenburg station is only a 6-minute walk away. Once you are here, we will gladly share more personal tips with you.
Black Forest
The Southern Black Forest is right on the doorstep and offers the highest Black Forest peaks. Some of Baden-Württemberg’s largest nature reserves are also here. A little further north, the Black Forest awaits with mountain mixed forests and glacial lakes. Throughout the Black Forest you have countless options for hiking and cycling. Open-air farm museums and summer toboggan runs are also popular with holiday guests.
City Trips
Charming Freiburg, international Basel and romantic Colmar are well worth a visit. Market lovers should not miss the colourful market in Mulhouse. Prefer something quieter? Smaller Baden gems await you: Staufen at the entrance to the Münstertal valley is a picturesque town with a medieval old centre, and the spa town of Badenweiler is not far away either. And then there is our Neuenburg: in just a few minutes on foot you can reach the pretty town hall square or the grounds of the former State Garden Show by the Rhine.
The Vosges
Bare mountain ridges, deep forests, peat bogs and bathing lakes: the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park is less than an hour away by car. Our favourites are the hiking and skiing area Le Hohneck with its magnificent views and Lac de Longemer. It feels like a holiday within your holiday: landscape, architecture and food & wine are unmistakably Alsatian.
Adventure
About 40 minutes away, Europa-Park Rust and the Rulantica water world offer adventures and fun on a grand scale. There is something for the whole family. Mountain bikers looking for an adrenaline kick are in exactly the right place around Freiburg, with countless legal descents for experienced trail riders. Quieter adventures await when canoeing in the beautiful old Rhine floodplain or safely climbing in the forest rope park.
Food & Wine
There are so many culinary highlights around your holiday home in Neuenburg that it is a real pleasure. And it is not just us locals who think so: Baden cuisine is considered one of the best regional cuisines in Germany. You can enjoy its down-to-earth version in typical Baden wine taverns. But our region also has an impressive density of Michelin-starred restaurants. And with the Nature Park hosts in the Black Forest you can enjoy excellent regional dishes while supporting landscape conservation.
Fun for Children
There is plenty for children of all ages to do around your holiday home in Neuenburg. At the Rhine they can try panning for gold, for example. Animal enclosures and adventure playgrounds are waiting to be explored. And even though we enjoy more than 1,000 hours of sunshine a year, rainy days are covered too: a huge indoor playground is almost around the corner.
